About BRW V

The Building Resilience Workshop (BRW) Steering Committee is pleased to announce that BRW V will be held March 12-14, 2014 in New Orleans at the Lindy C. Boggs conference center on the campus of the University of New Orleans. The Building Resilience Workshop convenes diverse stakeholders to engage in addressing natural and man-made hazards affecting coastal communities. Since 2010, the mission of the annual Building Resilience Workshop has been to identify and promote the implementation of innovative and sustainable strategies that strengthen resilience in south Louisiana and around the world.

The theme for the 2014 workshop is “Communities on the Edge.” Land loss and sea level rise are two of the most significant challenges in coastal Louisiana, along with many other coastal communities around the globe. BRW V will engage community members, government officials, professionals, and researchers in collaborative discussions to identify lessons learned and to propose adaptive strategies for communities facing environmental uncertainty.
